Congratulations to Lottery Winner Barbara Merridue!

It was not the winning but the taking part that attracted Barbara Merridue, from Littlehampton, to the Chestnut Tree House Lottery.

Lottery winners Barbara and Malcolm Merridue“I just wanted to give a bit of money each month to the hospice,” said Barbara, a retired carer.  “And my husband, Malcolm, fully agreed.

“We thought we would rather support something nearby, which is in a good cause, than do the National Lottery.”

They haven’t decided what to do with their cheque for £100. “We’ve had a good life, so it’s more important to do something for the children or the grandchildren at this stage, so we will probably spend it on them,” said Malcolm, a retired butcher.

Chestnut Tree House uses the money raised by Lottery players to provide the best care to local children and families.  It costs just £1 a week to play and our Lottery pays for one in every four days of hospice care.
