Clive Rimel did not have to think for a moment about how to spend the £1,000 prize that he won playing the Chestnut Tree House Lottery. He said, “It’s going into my Australia Fund,” he smiled, gazing out at the scenic setting of the Seaford Head Golf Club. “My wife and I are hoping to emigrate there next year because both our children live there, in New South Wales, the top end of the state, near the Gold Coast. I also have a niece who lives in Perth.
“I’m now a grandfather, too, with more on the way, I’m told. So, we made the decision a long time ago to make the move and have been planning for it. You have to wait years to comply with visa requirements. We’ve done that and now we’re ready to place our house on the market and make the move. And this win will help us. I’ve never won anything before.”
“I’ve only been Playing the Lottery for a couple of years. But I think Chestnut Tree House is a brilliant thing. I’ve visited the place and know how it works, know about everything it does, and I think it’s incredible. I go to their charity shop in Seaford.”
Chestnut Tree House uses the money raised by Lottery players to help local families cope, week after week. You can play from just £1 a week and our Lottery players pay for one in every four days of hospice care.
