Christine says she is still counting the noughts on the cheque after winning £1,000 from the Chestnut Tree House Lottery.
“I can’t believe it – there are three of them, and they’re all still there!” said Christine, from Haywards Heath. “We’ve been supporting this wonderful charity for five years – a dear friend of ours, Frank, died at St Barnabas House. We have never won anything before, and never expected to. I’m going to give some of the money back to Chestnut Tree House. Their work is so important.
“With the rest, I’m going to cheer myself up with something in these difficult, coronavirus times, if I can find a shop open. I have decided to buy a new bird bath and a shrub – probably an azalea which will flower at this time of year and be a reminder of a very happy day. The rest of my unexpected nest egg will be used for special treats – I will include my husband, David, of course.”
